When beginning your acting career, you have to think about how to make money to support it? Especially teenagers, can they ask their parents for money just to start their acting career?
Stop thinking that the only way to make money is to get “a job”. Think outside of the box like aorking actress - Amy Russ did. If that kind of thinking is not getting you the amount of money you need, then you must change the way you think. If you want different results, you must start to think and do things in a different way; otherwise you’ll just keep getting the same results.
Not having the lines memorized well enough! Believe it or not, this is the single biggest problem that most actors have in the audition room. The auditors of a recent EPA (Equity Principal Audition), told me that they could tell that the majority of actors, even subtly, were still trying to remember their lines. Therefore they were not fully acting their monologues. I completely disagree with the theory that not quite having the lines will keep an actor “fresh.” Would a serious musician in a competition dream of not quite knowing the piece? If any of an actor's energy is going into remembering the line that energy is not at his disposal to truly act the piece. .
